I remember a guy at a hotel in north carolina

I sat in the lobby on the second floor. Playing soduku. Watching people pass me by.

“how old are you?” he asked as he welcomed himself at the chair across from me.
“I’m fifteen” I said. I was open to conversation, I was always welcome to exchange life experiences.
“what are you doing up here? It’s 10 at night.”
“people watching” I replied.
His kids soon followed and he began to test my knowledge of life, my interest in what was around me.
“you say you’re 15 but your eyes speak years among your existence” he challenged.

“it’s because I do a lot of people watching”

True story.
